History

Note: This bio contains SPOILERS for Morahkiev's story! If you would prefer to find things out via RP, feel free to skip this part![Origins: Warrior to Exile - The Azim Steppe]Morahkiev was born in the Xaela tribes of the Azim Steppe in Othard, to a Dotharl father and a Mol mother. The conception of the boy was an accident brought of too much kumis and revelry during a festival shared by the tribes, but the Dotharl khagan, Maluuk, recognized Morahkiev as a reincarnated warrior from generations past. Maluuk was a forceful, severe, and violent man who claimed custody of his son to raise him into a warrior. There was a shadow on Morahkiev's soul however, a darkness that the khagan recognized--a corruption woven within his aether, but it was not the Dotharl way to abandon one of their own. So with the knowledge of this, they allowed him to live. He grew up in constant conflict, with battle training and discipline and devout dedication to their goddess Nhaama. Morahkiev often traveled in secret to meet with his other family, where his mother Lunadi taught him of compassion, and the love of learning and music. He also took an orphan Dotharl child named Bhaavgai under his wing as an adopted little brother, an exuberant youth with a talent for potent thaumaturgy. Between Morahkiev's rebellious nature and Bhaavgai's penchant for explosive trouble, they grew up with a multitude of adventures in the Steppe.The darkness crept up to Morahkiev, however, and around his coming of age he committed a number of deeds, the nature of which he does not freely talk about. Whatever happened necessitated him leaving the Steppe. He packed few belongings, said his goodbyes to all he cared about, and fled. It was Exile or Death, and Morahkiev chose Exile. He was seventeen when he flung himself into the maelstrom of the outside world, soon to be swept into its currents.[A Gangster's Path - Kugane]
Bhaavgai joined him shortly after his own personal trials, and they traveled across the Ruby Sea to Kugane, where Morahkiev attempted a new life. He was unaccustomed to 'proper' civilization, however, and ended up getting tangled up with a rough crowd, with gangs and violence, thievery and drugs. His impulsivity as a Dotharl led him into confrontations that sent him to prison for a little over a year. After some time, however, sense came back to Morahkiev and he left the world of organized crime behind, only after betraying his gang's deepest secrets and left them vulnerable to the swift and decisive wrath of Kugane's law authorities. As the chaos enfolded, Morahkiev fled Kugane on the fastest sea ship he could find, seeking to slink into obscurity in the West.[Opportunity & Talent - Eorzea]
As he ventured out into Eorzea, he researched the dark condition that had dismantled his life thus far. By perusing extensive libraries and exploring ancient ruins he managed to piece together a way of holding off the affliction and the hungers it unleashed. He learned that his soul had somehow become corrupted with influence from the Void, giving him both dark empathy and a craving for aether. He traveled across the lands, encountering dragons in Dravania that taught him how to further control his emotional volatility. He had also discovered scattered ruins of both Mhachi and Allagan origins, and felt the void energy pull him in and speak to him more intimately, softly, compellingly, meeting his senses with clarity that his latent Void affliction lacked. He spoke to the entities from the beyond, learning how the dark tint on his soul could be a boon, rather than a bane. And so he began to learn Void-Summoning; clumsy and reckless at first, but quickly developing into a skilled student in the dark art.Later discovering Idyllshire, he picked up the art of the Sage and devoured the literature and knowledge left behind by the Sharlayan exodus. He learned much from the world around him, grew to value knowledge and art and culture, and became a mercenary for hire, hunting monsters and defending caravans.[A Gilded Cage - Ishgard]
When he wandered into Foundation in Ishgard, he found himself drawn to an unassuming house by a figure offering him free drink and company. Despite the fact Morahkiev picked up on this place as a trap, and the void energy radiating from within, he still followed; his soul was too curious, too drawn to the darkness. His hosts happened to be a coven of Voidsent who were more than happy to entertain him, with the promise they could get him in a corner for the ultimate feast. A faulty void portal erupted that night however, threatening to swallow the Coven, and quick thinking had Mora revealing his abilities as a Summoner by closing the faulty rift with the brunt of his willpower, saving everyone present.While this saved him from being made a meal, the matron of the cult threw him into a cage while she decided what to do with this brutish (yet oddly talented) errant Xaela. Morahkiev was inducted into the circle to be their replacement Summoner, and while he enjoyed relative safety as a prominent member of the cult, that did not prevent him from being fed on, abused, and manipulated for their ends. Morahkiev endured, finding strength in another mortral trapped here: a slave named Leon, a viera assigned as the manor's personal maid. Morahkiev and Leon began to rely on each other's strength and care. Morahkiev continued studying Summoning Magic in a frenzy, hoping to remain useful in the eyes of the cult. There was an eventual rebellion of the sisters against this tyrannical Matron, and Morahkiev banished her back to the Void with his own magick. He grabbed Leon and left that cursed house, finding refuge in another void cult, led by a voidsent Morahkiev had met and learned Void Summoning from. This cult did not isolate them, however, and Morahkiev and Leon were able to re-enter the real world, gradually recovering from the trauma that Voidsent Sisterhood inflicted upon them.[Freedom - Ul'Dah]
Morahkiev moved to Ul'Dah to start his new life, joining the Immortal Flames and various mercenary groups to defend Thanalan from various threats, and do odd jobs such as guarding caravans and doing merchants' dirty work. This was quite a bit of toil however, and eventually Morahkiev found his calling in sex work as an escort and professional Dom in the various local kink scenes. This was a way to pick up ambient aether from his partners to stave off his affliction, and sated his extroversion and hedonism. Over time he developed a network of both mercenary contacts and venues, traveling around constantly as demand called for him and following his lusts and instincts. He has lived this way for a few years now, saving up a nest-egg of gil and living life to the fullest, holding off his curse and valuing the close connections he can form with others.

APPEARANCE

...BODY TYPE....This Xaela has moonlight-silver skin, with a form honed by a difficult life of labor and warfare -- chiseled muscle and sinew mixed with significant bulk, especially along his pectorals, arms, and glutes. He stands a little over the height of an average Xaela, at about 7 fulms....HAIR....His raven hair is ridiculously long and straight and flows far past his waist, and sports subtle blue highlights within the waves. It has a tendency to tangle, so he often wears it up in a long ponytail or single braid....EYES.... He has an intense stare with irises as white as Ishgardian snow, black sclera and slightly glowing limbal rings....FASHION.... Preferring monochromatic or dark styles, Morahkiev wears a lot of tight black leather, especially to his nightclub venues. When adventuring, his armor is light and utilitarian, drab and dark in hue. When in a more casual state, he wears loose tunics and baggy pants, often in Eastern styles popular in Kugane....UNIQUE FEATURES.... His scales are thick, deep black, and covering more of his flesh than a typical Xaela. His horns are large and curved, though his right horn has a large chunk missing from the tip. His tail is long and sinuous and decorated with metallic jewelry. His silver flesh is marred with various scarring, both slashes and patches of damaged skin. Dark mottling covers his lower arms and fingertips and over his chest, and he has long black claws on his fingers and pointed canines in his crooked smile.

He is not bent on world conquest, however, but more interested in maintaining balance between the mortals and Voidsent, and exploring the secrets of the Dark on his own time, for the pure love of the Art and the mysteries lying underneath....SOMETHING A LITTLE DARKER...Without being too explicit about it, Morahkiev sometimes gets cravings for something a bit more...decadent. There are uncommon moments where he can be discovered and trailed for his crimes and the carnage left in this wake. Pray that you don't fall between this monster's path and his hunger. He would probably find your taste irresistible, and his claws would twitch for the chance to caress you from deep within.
